"This year, Mars in Capricorn transit can be tougher than any other year. Mars will make conjunctions with Saturn and Pluto, as it continues through the sign of Capricorn. In particular, the first week and the last week of April may trigger tension, losses and major irreversible battles."
Great...............
Well as long as I have hot running water for baths, and cozy sweaters.
Then the world cannot beat me down.

"You can plan strategies and put them into practice in challenging jobs that require discipline. Give yourself discipline and try to act for your long-term business." Time to put your nose to the grindstone, eh? Continuing the Saturn in Capricorn theme - but now, time for putting it into action. All that mental prep and organizing's gotta be carried out for real. Or so it seems. Saturn on Mars tends to put a damper on Martian things. But if we work with it, can also mean economy of effort. That and stick-to-it-ive-ness, sustained effort. The conjunction to Pluto oughtta rev things up (is that happening this year already?). Imagine if that forms cardinal squares with other transiting planets. *weeeee*

I feel like I'm experiencing a permanent Mars in Capricorn transit right now haha. I can't stop organising and making lists- it gives me a sense of control over all the crazy stuff happening in my life right now. Capricorn Mars can be mean but really rewarding too. When Capricorn rewards you, its massive and such a relief!
Would you say Mars in Capricorn can be a placement of extremes given that it is exalted or domiciled or whatever in Scorpio?

Would you say Mars in Capricorn can be a placement of extremes given that it is exalted or domiciled or whatever in Scorpio? Aah, that's an interesting thought. Mars is domicile in Scorpio, probably because it (mars) was the traditional ruler of Scorpio. Makes sense, the Scorpio way of going about things (once triggered), is 'no-holds-barred'. I used to wonder why it wasn't exalted in Scorpio ~ clearly the God of war should work best with the sign that does not accept defeat(?) But it is a water sign after all - it needs that emotional trigger to spring into action. Capricorn, on the other hand, needs no such motivation. Saturn is the poster-boy for sustained effort. So the title of exaltation goes to Capricorn, not Scorpio. Circling back to what you were saying - it might very well be that this gives it an extreme reward-or-punishment theme. Also, I think that Saturn just makes you wait so long and slave so hard that you've very well earned whatever perks come with it.

^ Great points pufferfishy...Scorpio Mars feels like it should get SOME recognition for its toughness, so I like when people consider it domicile. Re: Cap Mars, Rick Levine says that if you ever need to move from one place to another, no need to call all your friends, just locate some Cap Mars people. They don't take breaks, they don't stop, they finish whatever they start. That's the beauty of it. My mother was Cap Mars and a super hard worker. The downside may be, not knowing when to quit...if you pick a battle unwisely, it's no asset to fight it to the bitter end. Cap Mars is right on my sun as I type. 'Just thinking of this whiff of aggression I've gotten sometimes from Cap Mars people, like they are vibe-intimidating me, or trying to. Sun conjunct Mars synastry is always touchy like that, but I think in Capricorn it may be more pronounced and obvious. Usually I just set my jaw and I do stand down to Cap Mars, not necessarily because I think they're right, but because I don't think the drama is worth it, if I go head to head with them.

^ Great points pufferfishy ...Scorpio Mars feels like it should get SOME recognition for its toughness, so I like when people consider it domicile. You mean people don't consider it domicile? Hmm, I dunno then. The texts I've read consider both Aries & Scorp domicile. Maybe that's not common, then... Aww shucks. Yeah, I see what you mean about Cap mars.. Scorpio mars don't give up either, even if they appear to have. Other than style, the biggest difference between the two is (IMO) - Scorp mars is pretty likely to self-sabotage or let their feelings get in the way... Cap mars is highly unlikely to self-sabotage. I've never seen that happen.. Another point in favour of 'exaltation'. Sun-Mars synastry probably has that edge to it - both holding their ground. Mars respects the Sun for that. Coz they won't be pushed around.

Perhaps the difference between Aries, Capricorn and Scorpio Mars can be used in soccer tactics as an analogy. Aries Mars will want to attack the opponent and 'be on the front foot'. Scorpio Mars will want to use defensive play and counter attack. Capricorn Mars will want to use player tactics and skill to master the game and bet the opponent. Do you see the difference?
