"Because Mercury will fall back on the Aries, the things you especially want to take action can make you tired. " ^ Hmm, I hadn't considered that. Mercury in Aries ~ time of frenzied mental activity. I'm always wondering about the "beware of contracts" part of mercury retrograde. Wish there was a way around it or something. A secret loophole? "Things signed or started in this period are not very certain UNLESS..." Coz it happens alarmingly often, this Mercury retrograde thing. Sometimes it falls in a time where major decisions are to be made for large groups of people - I wonder how that works out? Say, for instance, an employee re-org in a company, or an entire class' exams being graded. Can you 'defeat' merc retrograde by being extra careful? Or is it better to just steer clear of anything that requires a decision?

I agree pufferfishy , it's annoying to think all contracts should just be put on hold for weeks at a time. "You must stay away from the decisions made by the intimidation and anger that Aries can bring." LOL, how did you know sven555 ? Someone annoyed me recently and my finger was on the red button, ready to nuke the whole friendship in one satisfying moment. "Making a sudden decision in this process can lead you to a feeling of regret. Your personal birth charts can also be reviewed to learn how Mercury, which will move back through Aries, can influence you." Right Well Aries is Capricorn's 4th house of roots and loved ones, so I'll have to be particularly mindful of old relationships through this transit: repairing, mending and reviving them. I have Aries in the 9th house so I guess thinking and reasoning are inevitable chores in this time frame, too.

StarVega, wow that sounds like a typical scenario What do you think will happen? Either you keep talking until the end of the retrograde period, or don't bother talking anymore?

During a direct Mercury transit, things are more likely to be sweet and sound. During a Mercury RX transit; the same can happen; but people may have more doubt than usual. Both transits can provide upsets; but I guess Mercury RX requires more attention. I like to think that Mercury RX is good for exams, because it gives you more time to study and revise the past topics. For taking the exam, sometimes you have no choice but to take the exam, but it is like a weather forecast; you are told it will rain; it is your choice to bring an umbrella and a coat. But the exam may contain problems. I had some exams during the RX period in May 2016 and it was a tough time; lots of different factors lead to me doing ok but not great. I had to blag my way through to the teachers and give them good evidence for my demise; but it worked

Oh she and I will always be friends. My point was, this Mercury Rx is in Cap's 4th house, so Caps especially will be reaching back into their roots. That's what I was told anyway.

I was just coming here to comment about the "clearing up unfinished business" aspect of Merc Rx. It's like those things come back, demanding attention. That's a good point about the probability factor too - things can go south even when Merc is direct, but we need to be extra careful in the Rx period. Can't afford to overlook anything or not read the fine print.

It's as if Mercury says stop learning new words/sentences and start remembering those that you learnt.
