That's how I look at it.
So the zodiac evolves, with each sign inheriting something from the previous sign, and developing it towards the next sign.
Anyone think of it this way? Want to share your ideas? No need to cover the whole zodiac.

*Just for fun*
Aries inherits manifestation power from Pisces, makes quick decisions, takes action....that's how it starts to ground itself, by making things happen in the real world.
Taurus inherits an appetite for accomplishment, a love of beautiful results...as it strives towards Gemini, it's thinking and refining that Aries drive: "What are the best actions to take, to achieve the best results possible?"
Gemini takes the baton from Taurus, looks out at the whole world, expanding the scope of that inquiry. It develops itself according to curiosity, whatever sparks the emotions, as it's leaning in towards Cancer. Gemini lays claim to the world by describing it according to its taste.
Cancer is developing further along that growth line, but starts to prioritize emotion for its own sake, concentrating that energy, while shaking off the excessive, jittery mental energy of Gemini. Cancer is engrossed in the matter of piecing together experiences with emotions: "This makes me feel good, that makes me feel bad." Its understanding of the world starts to center squarely on its own heart, a kind of me-first orientation that sets the stage for Leo.
Leo wants the absolute best for itself, doesn't want to be hemmed in by others' dependencies. Leo does tend to be "clingy" like Cancer, but it doesn't look the same. Leo is tempered by the cool pragmatism of Virgo, as they are lulled in that direction...so their form of networking becomes a mix of emotion (Cancer) and discernment (Virgo). It can be frustrating to integrate the mind and heart, and Leos tend to have a pronounced cranky side, alleviated most readily by fulfilling their own high standards. It's as if they want to demonstrate, "If everyone would just be amazing like this" (Virgo perfectionism) then we could all love each other more sincerely (Cancer objective).
....to be continued (and revised and edited, probably ).
