I have to give it a more thorough read myself, but for the last days I`ve been drawn to progressed composites in particular and how they are working together with transits, individual progressions and now only eclipses.
What I found particular interesting in that article is something she mentioned in the example she was writing about.
"the progressed Moon was at 21 Capricorn – in a conjunction with her progressed descendant at 23 Capricorn. Why didn’t she meet him (approximately) two months later when the conjunction became exact? Well the reason seems to be that at 21 Capricorn the Moon was in an exact sextile to the nearest solar eclipse which took place a couple of months later at 21 Scorpio. This degree already loomed large at that time and her progressed Moon simply »picked it up«, so to say"
This was a thought that I haven`T come across before, that an eclipse might "pick" up a progressed Moon, or let`s say, the pr Moon timing an event in relation to the eclipse degree, especially if in aspect to something vital in our natal or progressed chart.
I do not brush this idea off right away (as maybe I would have with any transit, as I am a stickler for precision in terms of orbs
) - the reason I do not brush it off easily is that eclipses seem to denote more a time-frame, a time-period instead of one specific moment in time.
It`s not like the eclipse is just valid for the day it happens, though the days surrounding it are said to be often foreshadowing what is to come, but it seems to span and evolve its theme over a larger portion of time.
How long I am not yet sure, but I could imagine that it might actually work until the next eclipse of that kind. So one solar eclipse to the next one. But that is a highly theoretical hypothesis of mine, I do not have proof of that, have not researched it to be honest.
But anyway
if this hypothesis holds some water, then the eclipses are like marking posts or brackets for a timeframe, and within that timeperiod other things have to describe the timing, and set off that eclipse or the events foretold by the eclipse.
So as the progressed Moon seems to work superbly as timing tool when it it comes to natal or progressed aspects, (along with Tr Sun, sometimes even Tr Moon and as Celeste Teal sais Tr Mars, have to verify the Tr Mars yet though), so I can imagine it to be a good timer for
when an eclipse shows its face in our daily life events, too.
All of this were highly theoretical thoughts, but I got curious yesterday and since the last solar eclipse was at 8 Pisces (in february) and it was within a busy timeperiod for me (attending a musical workshop, concerts, connecting to people etc. - well the eclipse happened
exactly on the weekend where the workshop and following concert took place, so I made a mental note of this one), and I vaguely remembered that my progressed Moon is in the earlier degrees of Virgo at the moment, I thought I would check when the SE would trigger that progressed Moon of mine, or my progressed MOon trigger the eclipse degree, starting with the date today, and I nearly fell off my chair laughing, about the synchronicity of me suddenly, out of the blue, thinking of this (never before I entertained that line of thinking) and the accompanying astrology.
Solar Eclipse: 8°12 Pisces
my pr Moon: 8°23 Virgo
seems my pr Moon JUST was exactly on the eclipse-axis (I always think of them in terms of axis, even if it is a New Moon like a Solar eclipse), and of course is still well within orb - using a 1 degree orb for progressed Moon (which is approximately a month long) this would be valid until 12th june (which has always been an important day for me anyway, no clue why, but things seem to thicken around 11th-12th june quite often).
The eclipse chart itself is a very interesting to me; not only did the exact time of the eclipse happen literally ONE minute before the concert started I attended to that afternoon, but astrologically, the SE-chart`s ASC was on 16 Leo, which put my natal Moon into a partile conjunction with the SE-DESC.
the SE-IC was on an anarectic degree of 29 Libra, in partile conjunction to my natal asteroid UNION, and conjunct my Uranus and 11th house cusp by 2 degrees.
The Vertex was on 6 Capricorn, on the same degree as my natal Venus, and actually the Solar eclipse itself was in lose sextile (orb: 2°04) to my n Venus, so I guess the SE-chart`s Vertex ON my n Venus (and pr Mars) was just further emphasizing the importance of that.
The Solar Eclipse North Node - and I agree with the author, we should always check this one, as it is the proximity of the nodal axis to both luminaries that heralds an eclipse to begin with, so the nodal axis cannot ever be separated from the Sun and Moon in a eclipse, at least interpretation wise -
the Solar eclipse North Node was on 3°24 Virgo
At the day the eclipse took actually place my pr Moon was on 4°46 Virgo, so just having passed over the transiting nodal axis, in the month leading up to that date.
Whatever that means or describes, it`s interesting to me, and seems to support the notion that the progressed Moon is a pretty important one to look at in terms of timing events and timeperiods.
