Mars in the 8th intrigues me. My experience hasn't been so great with it. Sometimes, I think, the Mars person can overwhelm the house person. Well Mars is the kind of energy that always runs that risk.  I see it a bit like Mars-Pluto synastry (since the 8th is the house of Pluto). Powerful and perfect in the right conditions, overpowering and disastrous when it backfires. Like giving a child a blow torch...that's my analogy for Mars-Pluto in an already unstable relationship. Very interesting take on Mars in 8th overlay. this one puzzles me a lot, too, as my Mars (and ASC) fall into P`s 8th house as well. I wonder if he feels like that sometimes. Sorry did not want to interrupt here, and do not have anything valuable to add, you did such a superb job at analyzing that chart. I guess the only thing missing is the progressed synastry now.  Well the readings I've seen are almost uniformly positive, for Mars/8th overlay. Every situation is different, though. Two examples that came to mind for me, and got me thinking: 1. His Pisces Mars in my 8th...I found him physically aggressive. His Mars widely conjunct my moon, but I don't think that was it. Now that was after knowing him a long time in a very mellow context, there was the Pisces energy of merely wafting around. But as soon as we got together it was too much. 2. My Gemini Mars in his 8th I'm self-conscious about talking too much and this made it worse. Its not like he was saying, "So what are your thoughts on that?" Quite the opposite. |

Here is the progressed synastry, hopefully it is ok Sexy!  I mean with that pr Sun to pr Venus and pr Mars, in its building phase, and mutually applying actually, (venus and sun to each other), and all of that even boosted by expansive Jupiter. I like it. |

It`s just an isolated configuration of course, but on itself it does look promising, if a Scorpio-rising can manage all that Gemini energy.  |

lucina, it is a welcome change haha  Gemini energy isn't too foreign too me. I like to think of the pairing of gemini/scorpio as the deep investigator.

The husband of my family member, who caused me such trouble (trying to be vague, but hopefully a couple of people will know who I'm talking about) - his Mars was in my 8th, conjunct my Moon/Venus/SN. I've never felt comfortable around him, even before he made a pass at me (and then proceeded to create a lot of drama in my life). |
