Apologies if I have posted in the wrong forum first of all
I was thinking about this recently as I am starting to consider these aspects create difficulties in the personality.
I have Mercury square Mars, 6deg separating.
I know others with Mercury square Moon. These people I consider to be sometimes outwardly offensive and combative, not to mention terrible listeners. However, they call me out on being irritable and moody, particularly in the morning when I have just woken up. Both of them can't tolerate me being tired for some reason which I find unfair but whatever.
That said, it might be worth mentioning that those Mercury Moon people have it at about 3-5degrees so its a bit closer.
Do Mercury squares cause some sort of intolerance do you think? It would make sense as a block (square) to think (mercury) differently perhaps, or control certain ways of thinking.

It does make sense. I have Aqua Mercury square Uranus and I'm intolerant towards boring, stressful, overly-complicated-and-going-nowhere stuff. Rationally, I know that the bureaucrazy and their endless meetings and tedium are kinda necessary to make the world go round. But I couldn't be a cog in that wheel and have to fight the urge to look down on people who can do it. Really they are probably mentally STRONGER than me in many ways (longer attention span for certain things, greater organizational abilities). But yeah, I think I do have mental blocks. I can work around them to a certain extent by noticing how I feel (superior? try and nix that...pride goes before a fall).

I assume this thread is about understanding the square aspect with Mercury. It is impersonal.
I will move to the appropriate location and put a link where necessary.

I moved to the wrong location by accident.

I personally don't have any Mercury squares, but an opposition to Jupiter. Yes, I think squares can make you impatient if things don't flow in a manner you are happy with. Moon square Mercury makes someone talkative about personal things. I say talkative, meaning your topic of conversation with close ones; however some may be inclined to tell everyone how they feel! Even when not required (like in a Business meeting for example) Mercury square Mars makes someone keen for knowledge and understanding, but sometimes they become fixated on a viewpoint or desire an answer for everything even when not enough information can be provided for a good answer. Their voice/expression can be one of bluntless or impatience too, but most the time they don't realise they are doing this unless you tell them to stop! Mercury/Uranus square is more restless. Where Mars might keep trying to get an answer with one method, Uranus will force the individual to try new methods to get an answer. As StarVega said, she becomes bored with those who are interested in discussing inconsequential matters; Uranus wants the new/interesting topics; not the boring stuff.

StarVega, go to your profile; then edit profile button. Once there, you'll see the notifications tab. Click that. Then you can control which notifications to receive by email and how quickly they come.

Damn it! So close yet so far haha I was trying to write it without using props 😂😂😂
I think you are right about Mercury-Mars as I can speak for myself. I think I can, when im going through a certain phase be blunt about stuff. But not all the time and my speaking style changes a lot. I have a trine to mercury and a very close trine to Neptune which probably helps calm mars down. But I am straightforward in my thinking and I will stand my ground if needs be. I can have my mind changed but I will present my reasoning behind such thoughts and expect respect if you know what I mean.
Will get back about the moon.

With Mercury/Mars and Mercury/Neptune, perhaps you are able to switch between the two of them, FruityLlama. Since one is a harsh aspect, the other soft. I have been read about planetary geometry recently and I think this is the most important part of astrology. Since you have two aspects, your mercury is highlighted here, I wonder what else you have! Oh that is true sven555, I am sure Neptune helps with wafting in and out haha. Its also very closely trine to my Mercury whereas the Mercury/Mars is wide-ish and separating. Ooh astrology Geometry? I keep meaning to read into that but I don't really know what it is haha Mercury also sextiles my ASC quite tightly and sextiles Saturn widely, if memory serves me right. Saturn is at 19 Pisces, Mercury 24 Taurus... It also shows up as an opposition to Pluto which I think is a fascinating aspect in general. It does create a cynical view of the world, but with a touch of annoyance as well, particularly with generational patterns. Anyway, I think the moon-mercury sort of makes the native NEED to communicate. The tension from the square comes as like an impatience to communicate I think, whereas softer aspects might marry the emotional and communication styles nicely. I've seen those with conjunctions are really good public speakers, really eloquent too.
