Oh that is true sven555 , I am sure Neptune helps with wafting in and out haha. Its also very closely trine to my Mercury whereas the Mercury/Mars is wide-ish and separating. Ooh astrology Geometry? I keep meaning to read into that but I don't really know what it is haha Mercury also sextiles my ASC quite tightly and sextiles Saturn widely, if memory serves me right. Saturn is at 19 Pisces, Mercury 24 Taurus... It also shows up as an opposition to Pluto which I think is a fascinating aspect in general. It does create a cynical view of the world, but with a touch of annoyance as well, particularly with generational patterns. Anyway, I think the moon-mercury sort of makes the native NEED to communicate. The tension from the square comes as like an impatience to communicate I think, whereas softer aspects might marry the emotional and communication styles nicely. I've seen those with conjunctions are really good public speakers, really eloquent too. Astrology Geometry is basically the shapes that your chart makes from your natal aspects. Grand trines, T-squares, yods, stelliums etc. Most of the time, I and a lot of people I bet just use planet to planet aspects and see the effects; but it helps explain why sometimes people who have "compatible planets" actually are not compatible with you; and vice versa. Every person has a core configuration in their chart made up of at least 2/3 planets.
Just looked at your chart, FruityLlamaYour core is the cradle of Mercury in Taurus/Saturn in Pisces/Pluto in Scorpio/Neptune in CapricornThen you have Chiron in Virgo quite loose aspecting it, (Pluto is quite loose too). This shows that in fact someone with a Cancer placement at the right degrees will affect you strongly as it will 'fill in the gaps'. Again with someone with Aquarius/Scorpio placements aspecting your Mercury/Mars square.

sven555 thanks so much for that, I am seriously bad at picking out patterns like that! That's interesting to know though- I shall look out for them! I don't suppose angles configure in this though do they, either my own ASC or someone else's angles? I suppose someone with those placements may help to resolve that opposition- is that the right way in interpreting it? Thanks again

FruityLlama , i think angles have a different influence. Also a lot of us read charts which only display half the information about planets. We ignore the latitude value of the planets (declination deg). This declination deg is related to the parallel/contra-parallel aspect which you may have heard about.
But yes generally picking out the configuration of someone's natal chart can help you answer questions quicker about them. For example, if you have placements in Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo; you may think it would be better if you are friends/dating someone with similar placements in an earth sign but actually what you need a someone with something in a water sign to create a 'kite' formation. Thus if they have both something in both Earth and Water; and aspecting your Earth grand trine; you'll feel their influence is constructive. Things come in pairs, so having a grand trine with a harder configuration like a t-square, yod or grand cross will help keep the relation dynamic; so you bounce off each other but not in a bad way. This is just a simple explanation; i appreciate you cannot pick and choose your placements or others; but this is a best case scenario.
I thought I would raise this because just looking at one planet aspecting another is too general.

That is a really good explanation sven555 thanks so much. I will come back to this as I have to nip out again. Will ponder on this as I walk back to the library haha

Hi sven555 sorry I got dsitracted cleaning my kitchen, I have to move out tomorrow haha I was just wondering though... why do Cancer placements help with my cradle? Is it because they sextile both ends of that opposition? I am trying to work out someone else's natal chart right now who also has a cradle but I dont really get it haha

The cradle consists of Uranus in late Libra opposite Chiron in late Aries (there is also a wide opp. to mars at 6deg Taurus). That then is sextiled by Venus in Virgo (0deg) and Mercury 26* Gem, and to each other of course.
Am I right in thinking late Cap placements would balance this out...or am I missing the point here?

Yes, A Cancer placement would come into your chart and complete the 'formation' If correct' it should sextile two planets and opposite one of them.

Could you show a segment of the chart if possible? This cradle sounds a bit disjointed; generally all planets need to be within 5 degrees of each other. It sounds like: Uranus in Libra, Chiron in Aries, Mercury in Gemini --> I think this is a mystic triangle. Something in Aquarius would create a grand trine. Something in Leo creates a cradle, something in Sag creates a rectangle.
Venus in Virgo, Mars in Taurus -> Something in Cap makes a Grand trine, water creates a mystic triangle.

Thanking you! I drew over what I thought was a cradle but I might be wrong. Also, I think chiron is making it not mars, sorry I got it wrong- mars is a bit too wide.

FruityLlama, Judging by the chart, there are two bigger influences. The first is the Cancer focus, with Sun, Moon and Saturn in Cancer The second is the T-square involving Chiron in Aries with Uranus in Libra with the Cancer Moon. Does this person display Cancerian traits?

sven555Yes they are very creative, nostalgic, gentle and family oriented (sort of) but their career is also a big part of it, their identity and individualism. they are to some degree kind of capricornian too in the way that they work. They deliberately set boundaries for themselves and goals to achieve- very apt of that saturn conjunction I think.

Sun, Moon and Saturn in cancer inherits Capricorn traits because they feel the need to "work for a family or achieve for a family" even if they don't have a partner or kids; they feel a duty. Jupiter in Aries may have some influence; but sun/moon/Saturn is a little good start for achieving. Uranus and Chiron add surprises and pain/rebirth. The t-square Spurs them because Chiron is related to Career and also Uranus for some ideas. What industry are they in? Something Uranian related?

Yes they often talk about responsibility. They are a musician and are known for being a bit of an oddball, though I dont think they are odd at all haha sven555
